About Emirates Angels
Emirates Angels Investors Association is a non-profit association officially registered under the Ministry of Community Development and supported by the Ministry of Economy of the United Arab Emirates. Our objective is to strengthen the technology and startup ecosystem by connecting early-stage businesses with active angel investors. The Association itself does not invest directly; however, its members are independent investors who may engage with companies through the platform.
Who This Policy Applies To
This policy applies to all users of the Emirates Angels App, including:
- Investors – members seeking to discover and connect with early-stage technology companies.
- Companies / Businesses – startups or businesses submitting their profiles to reach potential investors.
Information We Collect
We collect information in the following categories:
- Investor Information: personal details such as name, email, nationality, investment interests, and other profile information used to understand preferences and match potential opportunities. Investor names are not publicly published on the app and are only visible to businesses if the investor requests information about that business.
- Company / Business Information: details provided by a business or its representative, including personal details of the submitter, company name, trade license, contact email, company profile/deck, and any additional details shared to describe the business opportunity.
- Account & Transaction Data: membership information, login activity, deal interest requests, and in-app communications between investors and businesses.
- Device & Usage Data: IP address, device identifiers, browser type, operating system, access time, pages viewed, and app usage metrics.
- Cookies & Shared Variables: we use cookies and local storage to maintain session data, store preferences, and improve the user experience.
- Third-Party Analytics & Error Tracking: we use trusted third-party services (such as Google Analytics and Sentry) to analyze usage trends and diagnose technical issues. These providers process only anonymized or aggregated information under strict contractual terms.
How We Use Your Information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Emirates Angels App and its features.
- To verify and manage member accounts and profiles.
- To match investors with potential investment opportunities based on their preferences and declared interests.
- To facilitate introductions between investors and businesses when an investor requests more information.
- To communicate updates, announcements, and relevant investment opportunities to registered members.

Information Visibility and Sharing
- Investor identities are not publicly visible on the platform.
- When an investor expresses interest in a business and requests additional details, the investor’s name is shared with that business for facilitation purposes.
- We do not publish or share email addresses, phone numbers, or other contact details of any user.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to any third party.
- Information may be disclosed only when legally required by UAE authorities or to protect the integrity of the platform.
Third-Party Services
We rely on limited third-party tools for analytics and error monitoring. These providers may collect aggregated or anonymous data to help us understand app performance and stability. Examples include:
- Analytics: Google Analytics (to analyze app usage and traffic trends).
- Error Tracking: Sentry or similar service (to identify and resolve technical errors).

We retain information for as long as your membership or account remains active, or as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy. When information is no longer required, it is securely deleted or anonymized.
